If I found this book at the bookstore, I would buy it right away. Forget the whole “what is it about?” thing. This is a beautiful book design by Nina Jua Klein.

This is not a photo of a miniature. Crazy, huh? Here you’ll find more, it’s called tilt-shift photography. It has something to do with the kind of lens they use (or photoshop trick), which makes the focus look like the photo was taken with a macro lens, something you’d use for miniatures. After I found this site I went crazy looking for tilt-shift photography, and it turns out it’s everywhere. Just google it, you’ll see.

In fact, I was getting caught up on my shows this weekend, and they even used tilt-shift in a title sequence! Any Joss Whedon fans out there? Watch the Dollhouse title sequence, and pay attention to the tilt-shift shots.

Here’s an interesting artist I found the other day. He does a lot of work with different types of cameras (pinhole, lomo, etc.), and not just what you’d expect.

One of his latest projects was taking cheap plastic cameras and prettifying them. My favorite is this lego camera.

Sorry for the lack of posts. Getting sick on top of allergies doesn’t exactly boost productivity.

Anyways. Every month or so I pool all the images I’ve saved, go through them, and pick out a few to add to my art card collection. They’re great for inspiration, and double as mini wall art. Here’s what my April cards look like. It’s funny, each time there usually ends up being a theme. I think this month was floral.

In honor of earth day, here are a few of my favorite eco-friendly etsy shops…

  • Uzura – adorable hemp bags and coffee cozies
  • 1.by.liz – clocks made from recycled bike pieces
(If you’re Portland-based, you’d be buying local too!)
  • sarahbirdspins – hand-dyed, hand-spun yarn. yum!
She has a blog too, about spinning, dying, and everything else.

Alrighty, now go plant a tree! Or at least hug one.

While we’re on the topic of music, here’s an interesting music video. Not only is the song pretty good, but the stop motion is quite nifty.
